The Joy Dare 2012

I have been reading Ann Voscamp's blog (A Holy Experience) for about 4 years now, and probably should have recommended it before now!  She is a homeschool mother of 6 children and lives on a farm in Canada.  Many, many times the words she writes resonate with my heart.  Her writings have encouraged me and challenged me.  She has written a book, One Thousand Gifts, where she chronicles her life and journey; it is the history and background of her first venture into purposefully choosing to seek and to see the many ways God blesses us.

This year, she asked her reading audience to join her in "The Joy Dare," which is keeping a daily journal and noting at least 3 things a day that you are grateful for.   At the end of the year, each of us will have noted one thousand (if not more...) ways the Lord has blessed us and expressed gratitude for those things.  I decided to join with the readership and participate in the Joy Dare this year, and it has been fun and refreshing!  Doing this small daily discipline allows you to slow down and note many things you might otherwise miss.

It's certainly not too late to join the Joy Dare--Do it!  You will be blessed!

P.S.  To read more about The Joy Dare, go to Ann's blog  or One Thousand Gifts website.
