"Sydney" our new puppy came home to our house on November 22, 2008! She is an Australian Shepherd and couldn't be more loved. She has grown since bringing her home, as all puppies do. I will try to post an early picture of her and one taken today. (I'm trying to figure out the adding a picture part of this blog.....) Anyway, she has fast become a part of our family. Chris and Natalie have Saturday morning training classes with Sydney at our local PetsMart--and Sydney is a fast learner. She loves to play catch and is doing well at learning to sit and to stay....at least most of the time! She and Natalie are buddies, and Natalie does the best with her when walking her on a leash around the neighborhood. Of course, Sydney loves and looks up to Chris, who promptly purchased a "football" to throw for her! She is still gated into our kitchen area, but has discovered the thrill of moments of freedom into the rest of the house. I'm not sure how much longer our gates will hold her in the kitchen area, we'll see. She also had her first bath last week (with both Chris and Natalie in the tub with her, well, just sitting onthe edge) and liked it for the most part. We are working up the courage to try trimming her claws...hmmm, I think I'll let Chris do that too! It was fun having her be part of our Christmas this year.
