Buna Ziua!

Hello from Romania!  This is the first time I have updated my blog from another country - isn't technology amazing!

Anyway, we are enjoying a relaxed evening here at the Team House after a wonderful day with the kids.  This morning 11 of us went over to Voluntari to visit and play with the kids.  There was something special about this day - the kids were exceptionally affectionate, friendly, cooperative, and fun.  Usually there is someone who wants attention and therefore has somewhat difficult behavior.  But not today!  All the kids were attentive to our story and then enjoyed a simple coloring page!  When we got out the balls, jump ropes, and toys, everyone played quite happily and well!  I also was able to get alot of good pictures.  The weather also cooperated in that the temperature was maybe in the high 70's with a breeze-really delightful.

I was able to ask Gabby (through Kirsteen) if he remembered blowing bubbles with me last year and he said "yes!" (Who really knows if he does remember, but he said yes and seemed too!)  Then he spent a good part of the rest of the morning with me; on my lap or alongside me coloring, and even getting a piggyback ride.  I also got to talk a little with Gabby's older brother, Florin.  Florin is 10 and is a good little soccer player.  Corney also tells me he is a very good student.  I hope that will be the same for Gabby as he gets older.

We got home for lunch about 1:45 and then some of us drove to the Baby Hospital at 2:45.  It was hot in there, but the babies were as sweet as ever.  It was so fun to see their smiles and hear their little giggles.  One little guy from the toddler room was walking down the hall following the nurse that was caring for him.  He was a good little walker and jabbered all the way as he stopped in each room--so cute!

Our team has had a fun time together and we are eager to hear about the Boys Camp team and their time in Ninciulesti.  Tomorrow afternoon we meet up with the team doing the Girls Camp.  We are going to divide into teams and do a Scavenger Hunt at the mall.  Hmmmm, scavenger hunt, Romanian mall, lots of girls, some that don't speak Romanian - another interesting adventure!!

Also, want to report a new accomplishment for me:  I walked to the Mega Image store (grocery store) all by myself and bought rolls for our dinner last night.  The store is just a couple houses down on the corner, so very close, but I had to check out, pay, and get change without anyone's help.  I know it's a small thing, but I dare you to try it!

All for now - hopefully I can update again soon.
