The Place which is called Calvary

We never should have known Christ's love in all its heights and depths if He had not died; nor could we guess the Father's deep affection if He had not given His Son to die. ~Charles H. Spurgeon

Christ Our Passover

The Jewish Passover begins tonight at sundown and this year Passover falls very close to its place in Holy Week. Some years ago after reading the book Christ in the Passover by Moishe Rosen we decided that if at all possible we would include Passover in our Easter celebration. It has made our Resurrection celebration all the more meaningful and rich. Tonight we will join with others throughout the world lighting the festive candles at sundown that begin the ancient dinner of remembrance.

"This is a day you are to commemorate; for generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD---a lasting ordinance." ~Exodus 12:14

"Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover Lamb had to be sacrificed. Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, 'Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.'" ~ Luke 22:7-8

"...For Christ our Passover lamb has been sacrificed" ~1 Cor. 5:7

Visitors From the Near East (Grandma & Grandpa) and Far East (Eric and Chelsea)!

Last week Eric and Chelsea were out here in California, and we visited with them for a few days! We had a wonderful time with them. Chris' folks came over for the day Sunday and we all spent the day together. Jim and Barbara arrived early enough in the day that Natalie and I were able to play a game of Canasta with them. Natalie is getting pretty good at it, in fact, really good....she and Grandma creamed Jim and I. It was fun. Then Eric and Chelsea got here and we had a great time visiting and eating dinner together. On Monday, Chris and Eric were able to get to the gym, and Chelsea went along too. Then, we spent the evening playing Settlers of Catan--what a fun game! Eric and Chelsea spent their anniversary in San Francisco and even went to see "Wicked" - I need to ask Eric how he liked a Broadway Musical! As always, the time went by too fast, but we enjoyed every moment.

Easter Break Activities...

Kristin left yesterday for a Camping/Rock-climbing trip with a group from Granite Arch. They are climbing near Bishop, so we are hoping that she can get into town at some point and visit briefly with the Kaisers! Hopefully she will come home with some great pictures. These are from a previous climb, but you get the idea! No one can ever underestimate the value of a strong carabiner---signed, mom.

Old Glory on a Beautiful Day in Rocklin

I think the spot for the flag on the front right side of the house is perfect---it really looks great.
Thank you Tom & Becky!

The Placing of Old Glory in our Yard

Here are some pictures of Chris & Tom's "front yard project" from a couple of weeks ago. As they were digging the foundation hole I believe they found out why our city is named "Rock"lin! Anyway, they persevered and the flagpole is in!
