We Have A Graduate! The Second Big May Celebration

Sunday, May 20th was High School graduation day for Natalie.  Eric and Addison flew in for the weekend, and Grandma and Grandpa Brumfield came as well.  We had a family dinner together on Saturday night and celebrated Kristin's and Eric's birthdays.  It was also the first time Mom and Dad Brumfield met their great-granddaughter, Addison.  So it was a special weekend in many ways.

And, as usual, we enjoyed watching the antics between Addison and Sydney and their special friendship.

We are so excited for Eric, Chelsea, and Addison to move here in July!!

The May Celebrations Begin!

May has been a wonderful family time this year.  The month began with a 60th Anniversary Dinner for Mom and Dad Brumfield on May 5th, their anniversary date being May 6th.  We had a fun time at Claim Jumper Restaurant, and Mom and Dad were surrounded by family and friends.  I was informed I should start planning for their 70th!

We decorated the tables with diamonds because the 60th anniversary is known as the  "Diamond Anniversary."  We joked that because I had done well on the Penny Slots the night before, the diamonds were real- ha!

It was a night to remember and Mom and Dad were so happy and pleased with everything.

Thinking Ahead To Mother's Day

The Birthday Girl today!

Just thinking about the amazing and wonderful journey of motherhood I have experienced and continue to experience;
-Remembering with much thankfulness the two beautiful mothers in my life;
-And thinking about my daughters as they are in the early steps of this journey called motherhood.

Here are a few tender insights on Motherhood from Ann Voscamp.  You can read her whole post here.

* Mothers give up much and never give up.

* Mothers never stop being with child. You always make a space for me within you.

* A mother’s labor and delivery never ends and for years she has to remember to just take a deep breath. Whole battles can be won by one breath and a prayer at a time.
